Plans are now underway for the third annual Celebration of Nations event that will be held in downtown Rolla from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29. Area residents and others are invited to participate in this free family festival that showcases the variety of cultures represented here with music, food, arts, crafts, a petting zoo, camel rides and more.
There are many ways to get involved. You or your group can be a contestant in the talent competition, have a float in the parade, volunteer for a few hours or rent a booth at the festival. All participants are asked to follow the Celebration of Nations guidelines — that performances, floats and displays be traditional representations of a culture. More prizes will be awarded this year for the talent competition and all volunteers will get a free T-shirt.
Make your plans now to be a part of this year’s celebration. Contact Stephane Menand at stephane.menand@mst.edu or 573-341-6237 for more information.
This event is sponsored by Missouri University of Science and Technology, the city of Rolla and area businesses.
