Special events at Leach Theatre have nostalgic feel this season

Those longing for a simpler time have three great reasons to attend Leach Special Events this season at Missouri University of Science and Technology. Performances include an acclaimed portrayal of a legendary comedian, a musical visit to the 1950s with some witty church ladies, and twin son’s tribute to their late singer-songwriter and actor father.


All performances will be held in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall on the Missouri S&T campus, 10th and Main streets in Rolla.

Tickets will go on sale Monday, Aug. 22. Patrons can purchase tickets by phone at 573-341-4219 or from the Leach Theatre Box Office. Box office hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Award-winning actor, director and playwright Frank Ferrante portrays Groucho Marx in “An Evening with Groucho,” scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17. Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for youth and $10 for Missouri S&T students with a student ID. Become part of the show as Ferrante ad-libs through hilarious one-liners, anecdotes and songs.

churchladiesbasement2062.jpgAway in the Basement: A Church Basement Ladies Christmas,” will get you in the holiday spirit at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for youth and $10 for Missouri S&T students with a student ID. A musical comedy about memories and the Sunday School Christmas Program.

Nelson.jpg Matthew and Gunnar Nelson will perform their late father’s hit songs in “Ricky Nelson Remembered,” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2012. Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for youth and $10 for Missouri S&T students with a student ID. This multi-media event includes never-before-seen footage of the Nelson family and hits like “Hello Mary Lou,” “Travelin’ Man” and “Garden Party.”
