S&T orchestras to perform Oct. 10

The Missouri University of Science and Technology University and Community Symphony and the Chamber Orchestras will perform at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, in Leach Theater of Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets in Rolla. The orchestra will be conducted by Dr. Robert J. Cesario, assistant professor of arts, languages and philosophy.

Tickets are $5 for the general public and free for S&T students and youth age 18 and younger. They can be purchased at the door prior to the performance.

The Chamber Orchestra will play a baroque suite by Louise Duval; Four Elizabethan Madrigals, set for strings by Katherine Davis and Hazel Weems; and a string setting of Irish Tune from County Derry, by Percy Grainger.

The University and Community Symphony Orchestra will perform Ludwig von Beethoven’s Overture to Fidelio, Larry Daehn’s As Summer Was Just Beginning, and Aaron Copland’s Four Dance Episodes from Rodeo, including Buckaroo Holiday, Corral Nocturne, Saturday Night Waltz, and Hoe Down.
