Following the 8th District Congressional Debate that will be held on the Missouri University of Science and Technology campus this weekend, a political science expert will visit the campus to discuss the fall political campaign.
Dr. David Robertson, Curators’ Teaching Professor of political science from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, will give a talk titled “The Political Landscape, 2010” at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, in the Missouri-Ozark Room of the Havener Center.
A nationally known political expert, Robertson appeared on the NBC Nightly News, C-SPAN and BBC Radio, in addition to several St. Louis television and radio stations during the 2008 presidential campaign. He serves as the political analyst for KSDK, a St. Louis-based NBC affiliate.
Robertson’s interests include American national politics and policy, political history, political economy, labor and environmental policy. His most recent book, The Constitution and America’s Destiny, was published by Cambridge University Press in 2005. He has also authored two additional books, edited a third, and published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals.
Robertson is associate editor of the Journal of Policy History and he edits CLIO, the newsletter of the Politics and History section of the American Political Science Association.
