International Students Day to showcase world cultures

Celebrate world cultures at Missouri University of Science and Technology’s International Students Day on Sunday, March 7, in the Havener Center. The event will be hosted by the Missouri S&T International Students Club and is open to the public.

The day’s activities will begin at 10:30 a.m. with a display of cultural artifacts from China, Germany, India, Iran, Malaysia, Nepal, Saudi Arabia, South America, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey and more. The artifacts will be on display until 1:30 p.m.

The Banana Oil Pan Band will play from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A 10-course international buffet is planned from noon to 2 p.m. Student tickets for the buffet are $6 in advance and $7 at the door. Buffet tickets for the public are $12 for ages 9 and up, and free for children ages 8 and under. Student meal plans will be accepted. Advance tickets are available from noon-1 p.m. Monday, March 1, through Friday, March 5, in the atrium of the Havener Center, and at the door the day of the event.

A cultural show will be held from 2:15-4:45 p.m. featuring a step show, a fashion show, Salsa and swing dance performances and an African dance troupe.
