Classic Disney tale ‘The Rescuers’ comes to Leach Theatre

Join a delightful cast of memorable characters as The Rescuers, one of Disney Studios best-loved animated dramas, is shown on the big screen at Missouri University of Science and Technology.

The final offering of this year’s Leach Theatre Family Film Series will be shown at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 6, in Leach Theatre of Missouri S&T’s Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets in Rolla, Mo. Admission is $2 per person. Tickets will be available at the Leach Theatre Box Office.

The Rescuers is the story of an international organization of mice that receive a plea for help from a little orphan girl named Penny. Penny has been kidnapped by an evil woman, Madame Medusa, who intends to use her to retrieve a diamond from a pirate cave. The case is taken by the lovely Bianca and her shy assistant Bernard. The two mice go off to the bayou where they encounter two brutish alligators and Medusa’s henchmen, and enlist the help of local swamp folk to rescue Penny and the diamond.

Post-film activities will include face painting and arts and crafts. Lunch and snacks, including pizza and soda, will be sold following the film.
