Mining engineering students at Missouri University of Science and Technology are planning a spooky treat for people who want to visit Missouri S&T’s underground mine this Halloween.

Haunted tours of S&T’s Experimental Mine will be held from 6 p.m. to midnight on Oct. 23, 24 and 30. On Saturday, Oct. 31, the mine will be open from 5 p.m. until midnight.

The mine is located off of Bridge School Road in Rolla, about 1.5 miles from campus. The tradition of the Haunted Mine began in 1997 as a fundraiser for the mining engineering program.

Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for ages 10 and under. There is a $1 discount with a valid military ID or with two canned or non-perishable food items. These will be donated to the Russell House, a shelter for the victims of domestic violence.

Proceeds benefit Missouri S&T student organizations. For more information about the Haunted Mine, call 573-341-4753.
