S&T to host engineering management conference in Springfield

The department of engineering management and systems engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology is hosting the 30th annual American Society for Engineering Management (ASEM) national conference Oct. 14-17 in Springfield, Mo.

Kathy A. Walker will give the keynote address on Thursday, Oct. 15. Walker is the former chief information and network officer of Sprint Telecommunications Co. She is now managing director of OPENAIR Ventures.

The conference also features a career panel for graduate students, an undergraduate case study competition and a series of technical seminars. The seminars will cover topics such as financial engineering and risk management.

The early registration deadline is Sept. 15, 2009.
