Leach Theatre Family Series appeals to all ages

The lineup for the 2009-10 season of the Leach Theatre Family Series includes an animal expert, large tubes of silver stuff and two beloved classic tales. The series is presented by the Missouri S&T student affairs department. Performances will be held in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall.

  • “Jungle” Jack Hanna, 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9. Host of his own syndicated television series and frequent talk show guest, zoologist Hanna shares his infectious love of animals. Admission is $30 for adults and $20 for students and youth. This event is sponsored in part by Phelps County Bank.
  • The Aluminum Show, 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010. Through the use of special effects, creative mechanisms and acrobatic dance, inanimate objects come to life with energy, emotion and even personality in this wonderfully inventive show. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for youths age 18 and younger.
  • The Wizard of Oz, presented by American Family Theatre, 4 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010. An original telling of Dorothy and the memorable friends and foes she and Toto encounter during their adventure in Oz. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for youths age 18 and younger. This event is sponsored in part by One Stop Costume and Party Shoppe.
  • Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, presented by Missouri S&T’s Miner League Theatre Players, 2 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2010. The story is brought to life in this enchanting musical, including all the songs from the Academy Award-winning animated feature. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for youths age 18 and younger.

All Leach Theatre Family Series events are supported in part by the Missouri Arts Council, the National Endowment for the Arts and the Mid-America Arts Alliance.

Tickets are available online at leachtheatre.mst.edu/family_series/index.html, at the Leach Theatre Box Office, or by phone at 341-4219. All sales are final; however, tickets may be returned 24 hours prior to the performance for a tax deductible contribution to the theater.

The Leach Family Series offers generous discounts for purchases of four or more tickets to any of these performances.

In the event that tickets remain for these performances, Leach Theatre will also offer discounted tickets through its “Back Row Club.” The seats in the last row of the theater will be sold one hour before each event for $10 each.
