Missouri S&T student Emma Kessler, a junior in psychology and history from Kirkwood, Mo., was crowned the 2009 Queen of Love and Beauty for the 101th annual St. Pat’s Celebration at Missouri S&T. Kessler was nominated by Beta Sigma Psi.
The four women chosen as members of the queen’s court were:
First runner-up, Princess of Peace and Happiness – Dianna Meyers, a senior in ceramic engineering from Blue Springs, Mo. Meyers was nominated by Kappa Alpha Order.
Second runner-up, Countess of Chastity and Virtue – Lauren Behrle, a junior in engineering management from St. Ann, Mo. Behrle was nominated by Triangle Fraternity.
Third runner-up, Duchess of Desire and Ecstasy – Monica Fankhauser, a sophomore in mining engineering from Belleville, Ill. Fankhauser was nominated by Lambda Sigma Pi.
Fourth runner-up, Lady of Honor and Devotion – Emily Buchmeier, a junior in chemical engineering from St. Louis, Mo. Buchmeier nominated by Kappa Sigma.
The names of the queen and her court were announced at formal coronation ceremonies held at 9 p.m. Friday, March 13, in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall on Missouri S&T’s campus.
