Dozens of professional cyclists from around the world will ride on to the
Missouri S&T campus Thursday, Sept. 11, as part of the Tour of Missouri cycling event.

Rolla is the end destination for Stage 4 of the race, which began on Monday,
Sept. 8, in St. Joseph, Mo. The Stage 4 finish line is in front of Castleman
Hall, 10th and State streets.

Stage 4 will start in Lebanon on the morning of Sept. 11, and riders are
expected to arrive on campus by 2:30-3 p.m. The stage will route through Fort
Leonard Wood to honor and acknowledge American troops.

Tour of Missouri riders will enter Rolla on Martin Spring Drive from
Newburg. A circuit race consisting of three laps on a figure-eight course
through Rolla will finish between 2:45 and 3:30 p.m. Spectators will have a
good view of the race from several locations. Immediately following the finish,
an awards ceremony will take place on the stage outside of Castleman Hall.

On Friday, Sept. 12, Stage 5 will begin in nearby St. James with
a finish in Jefferson City.
