Missouri S&T solar car completes North American Solar

Solar Miner VI, Missouri University of Science and Technology’s entry in the
2008 North American Solar Challenge, completed the 2,400-mile race today in
seventh place out of 15 teams.

The race began July 13 in Plano, Texas, and Missouri S&T’s car crossed
the finish line at the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada, at 2:50 p.m.
Mountain Daylight Time (3:50 p.m. Central Daylight Time).

Results, which are unofficial at this time, list the University of Michigan
in first place, followed by Principia College, FH Bochum of Germany, the
University of Waterloo, the University of Minnesota and the University of
Calgary.  Official results are expected to be announced at the awards
ceremony, which will be held Wednesday, July 23.
