Public radio station KMST, 88.5 FM in Rolla and 96.3 FM in Lebanon, Mo.,
remains off the air due to damage to the station’s transmitter.
KMST has been off the air since 11:30 p.m. Saturday, May 31. According to
KMST General Manager Jim Sigler, severe lightning strikes at the KMST
transmitter and tower site likely caused the damage. The transmitter’s
manufacturer ordered a component that arrived Tuesday morning, but failed to
remedy the problem. The station is awaiting the delivery of additional parts
that are expected to arrive today (Wednesday, June 4).
During the interim period, listeners may continue to tune in to the station
online at kmst.org.
KMST is a National Public Radio affiliate housed on the Missouri S&T
campus.
