Five electrical engineers were inducted into the Academy of Electrical and
Computer Engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology during
the academy’s annual banquet Thursday, April 17.
The academy is an advisory group to the Missouri S&T electrical and
computer engineering department. Founded in 1980, the academy is a departmental
advisory group composed of alumni and other electrical and computer engineers
who have made outstanding contributions to their profession.
Inducted were:
- Mark G. Fehlig of Atlanta, director of technical and engineering services
for Georgia Public Broadcasting. Fehlig received a bachelor of science degree
in electrical engineering from Missouri S&T in 1973. He later earned a
master of business administration degree from Quincy University.
- Michael A. Perry of Overland Park, Kan., senior vice president and senior
design director for Black and Veatch Corp. Perry received a bachelor of science
degree in electrical engineering from Missouri S&T in 1972. Before taking
his current position, he served as executive vice president at Black and
Veatch.
- David C. Raterman of St. Louis, director of agricultural engineering for
Monsanto Co. Raterman received a bachelor of science degree in electrical
engineering from Missouri S&T in 1973.
- Kiritkumar S. Shah of St. Louis, manager of reliability standards and
compliance for Ameren UE. Shah received a master of science degree in
electrical engineering from Missouri S&T in 1984.
- David A. Whiteley of Princeton, N.J., executive vice president for North
American Electrical Reliability Corp. Whiteley received a bachelor of science
degree in electrical engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology
before earning a master of science degree in electrical engineering from
Missouri S&T in 1984.
