Celebrate the magic of the holidays at the University of Missouri-Rolla when
the award-winning musical “The Littlest Light on the Christmas Tree" takes
the stage at Leach Theatre at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9.
Adapted from the animated film by the same name, “The Littlest Light on the
Christmas Tree" is a heartwarming tale about the friendship between
8-year-old Timmy Wiggins and an abandoned Christmas bulb.
Set in 1942, the story finds Timmy and family mourning the death of his
father, who was killed in action in World War II.. On Christmas Eve, Timmy, who
is determined to the be the man of the house, is tricked into spending his last
pennies on a small, broken Christmas tree light with promises the bulb is
magical.
Can Timmy believe in the light’s magic enough to make his dreams, and the
dreams of all, come true?
“It’s a story for the whole family," Leach Theatre’s John Woodfin says
of the musical. “I think it will be a great way for families to ring in the
holidays."
