The University and Chamber choirs at the University of Missouri-Rolla will
present a Renaissance Feaste including dinner and an evening of entertainment
Nov. 29 through Dec. 1.

The Renaissance Feaste will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29; Friday,
Nov. 30; and Saturday, Dec. 1. It will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, 1000
N. Main St. in Rolla.

Tickets are $25 each, which includes dinner and entertainment. To purchase
tickets, contact the UMR performing arts office at 573-341-4185 or email
splank.mst.edu. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

The evening begins with a Wassail toast served with fruit and cheese. Upon
entering the King’s Grand Dining Hall, guests will be served dinner consisting
of salad, stuffed chicken breast with cream sauce, red potatoes, green beans,
and rolls. Pumpkin cheesecake will be served for dessert.

The masque or play portion of the evening, "The Perfect Lie",
centers on Peter Piper of Poppycock with a pittance of a population and his
adventures in getting to the Royal City to seek his fortune. He meets many
characters along the way, including an Ozark farmer and a leprechaun.

“Of course, no masque would be complete with your customary bard and jester
to help the story along", says Lorie Francis, director of choral ensembles
at UMR. “Toss in various other citizens and you have one entertaining tale that
begs be told".

The evening will close with a short performance by the UMR choirs.
