Seven graduate students at the University of
Missouri-Rolla are about to do something nobody has ever done before: Earn
master’s of business administration degrees from UMR.

UMR officially started its MBA program in
January of 2007. The program, which emphasizes the use of technology in
business environments, consists of 36 hours of graduate-level
work.

MBA students customize their UMR degree by
choosing a concentration in e-commerce, enterprise resource planning, finance,
human-computer interaction, information technology management, marketing, new
product design and management or supply chain
management.

The students compete to solve real-world
business problems and are required to complete an internship as part of the
curriculum.

The degrees will be awarded during UMR’s
winter commencement ceremonies on Dec. 15. Members of UMR’s first graduating
class of MBA students are Nancy Corcoran of Rolla, Randall Davis Jr. of
Hillsboro, Mo.; Nicholas Feldmann of Marthasville, Mo.; Robert Jones of Webster
Groves, Mo.; Sharon Massengill of Tazewell, Tenn.; Christopher Stewart of Rolla
and Lindsey Woessner of Rolla.
