Academy honors two outstanding engineering management professionals

Two engineering management professionals were inducted into the University
of Missouri-Rolla’s Academy of Engineering Management on Tuesday, Oct 16.

The academy, established at UMR in 2004, is an advisory group to the UMR
engineering management department. The two members were selected based on input
from a faculty committee and a group of founding members.

“We wanted our members to be strongly committed to the department and good
role models for our students," says Dr. William Daughton, chair of the
engineering management department at UMR. “They clearly represent the type of
career of career success our graduates can enjoy."

Inducted were:

  • John F. Bade of St. Louis, Mo. Bade earned a bachelor’s degree in
    engineering management with an emphasis in mechanical engineering in 1987 from
    UMR. He is currently responsible for strategic development, mergers and
    acquisitions and competitive assessments for the $7 billion Support Systems
    Division at Boeing Co. Bade also teaches graduate courses at UMR and Washington
    University.
  • Kevin Fritzmeyer of Chesterfield, Mo. Fritzmeyer earned a bachelor’s degree
    in engineering mangement in 1985 from UMR. Fritzmeyer is a vice president of
    Cameron Holdings, a St. Louis-based private equity group that specializes in
    the operation and acquisition of middle market manufacturing and service
    companies. Fritzmeyer is also a director Cloud Packaging Solution LLC of
    Chicago, Ill. and North American Products LLC of Jasper, Ind. Fritzmeyer is an
    active member of Packaging Machinery Manufacturer’s Institute and Contract
    Packaging Association.
