Forty University of Missouri-Rolla graduates from the Class of 1957 will return to campus for their Golden Alumni Reunion May 21-23.

Two reunion events are open to the public. “MSM-UMR…Then and Now,” a multi-media program, will be presented at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall on the UMR Campus. The Golden Alumni Recognition Ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, in Leach Theatre.

Each alumnus will receive a 50-year pin during the Golden Alumni Recognition Ceremony. “Alumni often remark on how this is the most prestigious and memorable part of the reunion for them,” says Marianne Ward, assistant director of alumni and constituent relations at UMR. “Having people from the campus and the community in attendance will help show these alumni how pleased we are to have them back in Rolla.”

Two individuals who plan to attend are from Rolla: Charles Edwards, who earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 1957; and Vera Johnson, the widow of James Johnson, who earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from UMR in 1957.

For more information about the reunion, contact the MSM-UMR Alumni Association at 573-341-4145 or alumni@mst.edu .
