The 11th annual Piano Bash at the University of Missouri-Rolla will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, April 20, in Room 138 Castleman Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

The Piano Bash is the final project for UMR piano students. Pieces to be performed include the themes from four vintage television shows: “The Munsters,” “The Brady Bunch,” “The Addams Family,” and the original “Star Trek” series. The songs “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Brightwood Barn” and “Toccata” round out the program. UMR student Jared Shulse will also present two pieces on the tuba.

“The performance features as many as 15 students playing pianos at the same time,” says Lorie Francis, a lecturer in the arts, language and philosophy department at UMR and piano instructor. “Be sure to mark the date on your calendar to support these students, because they are sure to tickle the ivories with flair.”
