Dr. John F. Carney III, chancellor at the University of Missouri-Rolla, is the speaker for this year’s Engineers Week Banquet to be held Friday, Feb. 16, at Zeno’s Steak House in Rolla.

Social hour for the banquet begins at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. The cost of the meal is $16 with a menu of grilled chicken and shrimp. The banquet is sponsored by the Rolla Chapter of Missouri Society of Professional Engineers, Mid-Missouri Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Fort Leonard Wood chapter of the Society of American Military Engineers, and the Missouri Chapter of the American Public Works Association.

Engineers Week 2007, Feb. 18-24, is observed and celebrated by many communities around the country. The National Society of Professional Engineers started Engineers Week in 1951 to highlight the continuing progress and contributions being made in the engineering profession.
