The office of student financial assistance at the University of Missouri-Rolla will host College Goal Sunday for high school juniors and seniors from 2-4 p.m. Feb. 11. The program will help students planning on attending a college or university in the fall with financial aid information.

Students will learn how to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which determines eligibility for grants, loans, scholarships and student employment. Every college-bound student is eligible to take part in the free two-hour event, which will be held in the Carver-Turner room of the Havener Center on the UMR campus.

In addition to Missouri high school students, parents or guardians are invited to attend. Those students who may not be considering college because of financial reasons are also encouraged to attend. Volunteers and financial aid experts will be on hand to answer questions.

The slogan for the event is “Just Get Here.” No prior experience with FAFSA is required. For more information on Missouri’s fourth annual College Goal Sunday, visit www.collegegoalmissouri.com/index.html.

Students are encouraged to review the website information before they arrive at the event. Necessary documentation, including individual 2006 federal tax information, is required to fill out the FAFSA. The FAFSA should be completed by March 1.
