UMR wind ensembles to perform Nov. 16

The UMR Wind Ensemble and the UMR Symphonic Winds at the University of Missouri-Rolla will perform in concert at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall. The concert is free for students and $3 for the general public.

Under the direction of Dr. Don Miller, director of the instrumental music program at UMR, the Wind Ensemble will perform “Greek Folk Song Suite” by Franco Cesarini, “David of the White Rock” arranged by Philip Sparke, “Marche des Parachutistes Belges” by Pierre Leemans, “Canzona” by Peter Mennin, and themes from “Green Bushes” by Percy Aldridge Grainger.

The Symphonic Winds, also directed by Miller, will perform “Esprit de Corps” by Robert Jager, “Contre, Qui Rose” by Morten Lauridsen, “Russian Christmas Music” by Alfred Reed, “Commando March” by Samuel Barber, and “Illyrian Dances” by Guy Woolfenden
