Dr. Wayne Huebner, vice provost of research at the University of Missouri-Rolla, will speak to will speak to prospective freshmen, transfer and graduate UMR students and their families on Monday, Oct. 30, at UMR’s “Rolla Night” at the Clarion Hotel, 3333 S. Glenstone in Springfield.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. with a social hour and formal presentation followed by an information fair. All prospective college students and their parents, teachers and counselors are invited to attend.
Huebner will speak about various educational opportunities at UMR. A professor of ceramic engineering at UMR, Huebner was director of the UMR Graduate Center for Materials Research prior to being named vice provost of research.
A student panel will also discuss the campus, its educational programs and student activities. An informal reception will follow the program. Faculty, staff and students from many of UMR’s academic and research departments will be available to answer questions and visit with attendees during this time.
