The University of Missouri-Rolla crowned its 2006 Homecoming Queen and King at halftime of Saturday’s football game between UMR and Southern Nazarene University.
Margaret Thompson, a senior in biological sciences from Marshall, Mo., was named UMR’s 2006 Homecoming Queen. Philip Schloss, a senior in mechanical engineering from Pomona, Mo., was named UMR’s 2006 Homecoming King.
Various student organizations nominated candidates for queen and king. Thompson and Schloss were both nominated by Pi Kappa Alpha. The winners were selected after interviews and after a campuswide election that was held the week prior to homecoming.
UMR’s Homecoming activities were held in Rolla throughout the weekend of Oct. 20-22. In the football game, UMR defeated Southern Nazarene 17-14.
