Homecoming King candidates announced

University of Missouri-Rolla student organizations have nominated students to compete for the title of 2006 Homecoming King.         

The winner is chosen after interviews and a campuswide election held the week prior to Homecoming, which is on the weekend of Oct. 20-22.

The king and queen, and the runners-up, will be announced during halftime ceremonies of UMR’s Homecoming football game on Saturday, Oct. 21. The game, which features UMR and Southern Nazarene University, starts at 1 p.m.         

The king candidates are: 

MISSOURI                        

Ellisville – David Miles, a senior in architectural engineering, nominated by Student Council

Elsberry – James Michael Carter, a junior in information science and technology, nominated by Zeta Tau Alpha

Florissant – Erick Richardson, a senior in electrical engineering, nominated by Chi Omega

Pomona – Philip Schloss, a senior in mechanical engineering, nominated by Pi Kappa Alpha

Rolla – Tim Hill, a senior in engineering management, nominated by Kappa Alpha

Springfield – Alias Tagami, a senior in aerospace engineering, nominated by Quadrangle Hall Association

Wentworth – Jace Staponski, a senior in mechanical engineering, nominated by Phi Sigma Rho 

ARKANSAS        

Fort Smith – Scott Pitsch, a senior in mechanical engineering, nominated by Beta Sigma Psi

NEBRASKA         

Omaha – Adam Krabbenhoft, a senior in mining engineering, nominated by Kappa Delta

TEXAS         

Katy – Tony Talecki, a senior in mechanical engineering, nominated by Thomas Jefferson Hall Association.
