The University of Missouri-Rolla Student Union Board (SUB) will present the SUB Comedy Show at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, in St. Pat’s Ballroom B and C at the Havener Center on the UMR campus in Rolla. The show is free and open to the public.

Actor and comedian Gary Owen, who has appeared in the movies “Daddy Day Care” and “Little Man,” will headline the event. A regular stand-up comedian on Comedy Central, Owen recently released his first comedy CD, “Live from Tampa.”

Comedians Shaun Jones and DS will also perform.

“All of the comedians have been on Black Entertainment Television (BET) Comic View more than 10 times,” says UMR student Motaz Hajjaj, director of SUB’s comedy committee. “This should be one of our best shows this year.”

The SUB comedy committee is a group of UMR students who volunteer their time to bring cutting-edge entertainment to Rolla. Previous SUB-sponsored comedy shows include performances by Adam Sandler, Frederick Winters, and improvisational comedy troupe Second City.

More information about the UMR Student Union Board is available online at campus.mst.edu/sub . To contact SUB, email sub.mst.edu or call the SUB office at 573-341-4220.
