UMR Homecoming events scheduled for Oct. 20-22

Homecoming weekend at the University of Missouri-Rolla is Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 20 to Oct. 22. For reservations and information about Homecoming 2006, contact the MSM-UMR Alumni Association at 573-341-4145.

The theme for Homecoming 2006 is “Rollawood.” Campus activities open to the public on Friday and Saturday during Homecoming include:

Friday, Oct. 20

– Registration, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Havener Center atrium

– Displays of original artwork and photography by area artists, presented by Arts Rolla!, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Havener Center

– “The Adventures of the Amazon Queen,” Dr. James Bogan, Curators’ Teaching Professor of art, history and film, screens his latest film, 1:30 p.m., Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall

– Molten metal casting demonstrations, 3-4:45 p.m., McNutt Hall foundry

– Departmental open houses and receptions, 3-4:45 p.m., at various campus locations

— Dedication of Fred Kisslinger Metallography Classroom, 3:30 p.m., B5 McNutt Hall

— Ice cream social, 3:30-4:45 p.m., materials science and engineering department, outside McNutt Hall

– Open house at UMR’s Solar Village, 5 p.m., 10th Street across from the university’s athletic facilities

– “Silver & Gold Spotlight,” entertainment, drinks and dinner, 5:30-9 p.m., St. Pat’s Grand Ballroom, Havener Center, tickets required

– Haunted Mine, 6-11:30 p.m., UMR’s Experimental Mine, Bridge School Road, admission required, discount for donating cans of non-perishable food items

– Women’s soccer, UMR versus William Woods University, 7:30 p.m., UMR Soccer Complex

Saturday, Oct. 21

– Registration, 9 a.m. to noon, Havener Center atrium

— St. Pat’s Alumni Centennial Planning Meeting, open to all St. Pat’s Board alumni, 10 a.m., Alex’s Pizza

– UMR Athletic Hall of Fame open to visitors, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Gale Bullman Multi-Purpose Building

– Rodeo Drive Reunion lunch, seating by class, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., class photos at 11:30 a.m., St. Pat’s Grand Ballroom, Havener Center, tickets required

– Football, UMR Miners vs. Southern Nazarene University, 1 p.m., Allgood-Bailey Stadium, tickets required

– Oscars Awards Banquet, 5:45-9 p.m., Havener Center, tickets required

– Haunted Mine, 6-11:30 p.m., UMR’s Experimental Mine, Bridge School Road, admission required, discount for donating cans of non-perishable food items.
