The Center for Entrepreneurship and Outreach at the University of Missouri-Rolla is planning a three-hour workshop designed to help people who are thinking about a new business venture. The workshop will take place from 3-6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, at the Rolla Area Chamber of Commerce, 1301 Kingshighway.

The fee for the workshop is $30. Participants will assess their strengths and weaknesses in terms of business ownership, learn about the importance of planning, discuss legal and regulatory requirements, explore marketing options and identify sources of funding.

The workshop will be directed by representatives of UMR’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Outreach (CEO). At the end of the workshop, participants should be able to identify resources helpful in starting a business in Missouri and identify areas of additional training.

Seating is limited and pre-registration is required. Registration on the web is preferred at www.missouribusiness.net/cgi-bin/calendar/ . For more information, contact CEO at 573-341-4690 or visit www.umrceo.net.

The workshop is co-sponsored by CEO and the Rolla Area Chamber of Commerce. CEO is a partnership of UMR and the University of Missouri Extension, in conjunction with the Missouri Small Business Development Center.
