Two seniors in aerospace engineering at the University of Missouri-Rolla recently received Record Scholarships from Tau Beta Pi, the engineering honor society.
Natalie M. Frenz of St. Louis and John M. Gantt of Madisonville, Ky., each received a $2,000 cash award for their scholastic achievement, campus leadership and service, and career goals. The Record Scholarships, awarded for the first time in 2001, were established by the late Leroy E. Record, a 1929 electrical engineering graduate from the University of Kansas.
The honor society selected 123 students from a pool of 251 applicants to receive a total of $246,000 in scholarships, the largest amount of awards the honor society has given in one year since the program was established in 1998.
