High school girls can discover opportunities in the fields of science, math, engineering and technology in a week-long camp to be held this summer at the University of Missouri-Rolla.
The “Summer Solutions” camp will be held June 19-23 on the UMR campus. Sponsored by UMR, the Women In Science and Engineering Program (WISE), and the University Transportation Center, this five-day camp will introduce participants to different engineering and science majors.
Using hands-on projects to experience what can be done with math and science, campers will interact with and learn from college students and professors, learn how to prepare for college, and enjoy summer socials.
Participants must be high school freshman and sophomore girls this fall, or home schooled girls ages 15-16. The registration fee is $200 and covers meals, activities, supplies and housing. Girls are responsible for transportation to and from the UMR campus. The deadline for registration is May 31. Enrollment is limited to the first 50 participants to register.
