Two inducted into UMR Academy of Chemical Engineering

Two chemical engineers with ties to the University of Missouri-Rolla were inducted into the UMR Academy of Chemical Engineers during the academy’s induction ceremony Thursday, April 20, at the Havener Center on campus.

The academy honors chemical engineers for their contributions to the profession, leadership and involvement with UMR. The academy also serves as an advisory group to the UMR chemical engineering department.

New members are:

  • Dale A. Kyser of Vernon Hills, Ill., program director of the global cheese and dairy programs in the global technology and quality division of Kraft Foods. Kyser received a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from UMR in 1982. He obtained master’s and doctoral degrees in chemical engineering from the University of Illinois in 1985 and 1987, respectively.
  • Marvin E. Borgmeyer of Baton Rouge, La., metallocene ethylene elastomer operations manager at ExxonMobil Chemical Co. Borgmeyer received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemical engineering from UMR in 1974 and 1975, respectively. After graduating from UMR, he obtained a master’s degree in business administration from Louisiana State University in 1979.
