UMR Miner swimmers offer swimming lessons to area kids

The University of Missouri-Rolla Miner swimming team will offer swimming lessons for area children this spring.

The classes will be held Monday, April 3, through Thursday, April 20, at the UMR Swimming Pool in the Gale Bullman Multi-Purpose Building, 10th Street and Bishop Avenue in Rolla. Members of the UMR Miner Swimming team will serve as instructors for the course. The fee for the program is $75.

The swimming lessons are intended for children ages 4 years and older, and those of all ability levels. The lessons will consist of 30-minute sessions held from 4-6 p.m., Monday- Thursday.

Registration will be held from 4:30-5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, at the UMR pool. Only the first 90 applicants will be accepted. Applications will not be accepted through the mail. Participants must attend the registration session to be accepted. Session preference will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
