Twenty-three faculty members from the School of Engineering at the University of Missouri-Rolla were honored for their excellence in teaching in 2003-2004 during a luncheon held Monday, Nov. 15.

Dr. Robert Mitchell, dean of the UMR School of Engineering, and Jerry Bayless, associate dean of the School of Engineering, presented the awards.

The School of Engineering Outstanding Teaching Award is given each year to School of Engineering faculty members based on student responses in teacher evaluations. Recipients of the award taught at least one lecture course each semester that was evaluated by 10 or more students.

Outstanding Teaching Awards were presented to:

– Dr. Craig Adams, John and Susan Mathes Missouri Professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering
– Dr. D.J. Belarbi, professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering
– Dr. Joel Burken, associate professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering

– Dr. Lokesh R. Dharani, Curators’ Professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering
– Dr. James Drallmeier, professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering
– Dr. David Enke, assistant professor of engineering management
– Dr. Kelvin Erickson, chair and professor of electrical and computer engineering
– Dr. Ralph Flori, Jr., associate professor of basic engineering
– Dr. Kelly Homan, assistant professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering
– Dr. Todd Hubing, professor of electrical and computer engineering
– Dr. Kurt Kosbar, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering
– Dr. Roger LaBoube, Distinguished Teaching Professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering
