UMR student receives scholarship from Cardinal Newman Catholic Campus Ministry

Adam Tiehes of Perryville, Mo., a senior in architectural and civil engineering at UMR received the Newman Scholarship from UMR’s Cardinal Newman Catholic Campus Ministry on May 10.

Tiehes is the first to receive this scholarship. To qualify, the student must be interested in becoming a lay leader in the Catholic church, have a minimum grade point of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, and be enrolled in at least nine credit hours.

The scholarship is funded by alumni, UMR employees and the Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
