The world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales will march in UMR’s annual St. Pat’s Parade, Saturday, March 13, in downtown Rolla.

Dr. Ganesh K. Venayagamoorthy, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering at UMR recently received a CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation to support his work on improving the electric power grid.

Dr. Abdeldjelil "D.J." Belarbi, professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering at the University of Missouri-Rolla, will receive the 2004 National James M. Robbins Excellence in Teaching Award and the 2004 Chi Epsilon Excellence in Teaching Award for the Central District during the National Chi Epsilon Conclave Awards Banquet at Purdue University on March 6.

Dr. R. Larry Grayson, chair and professor of mining engineering at UMR, recently received the Ivan B. Rahn Education Award and the Coal and Energy Division Distinguished Service Award from The Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (SME).

Students at UMR received awards and participated in the International Society of Explosives Engineers conference held Feb. 1-4 in New Orleans.
