UMR engineering management student wins scholarship

Jaron Jones of St. Louis, a senior in engineering management at the University of Missouri-Rolla, recently received a $350 scholarship from the Missouri Gateway Chapter of the Institute of Packaging Professionals.

"The Missouri Gateway Chapter of the IOPP has sponsored this scholarship each semester for the last two years and will increase the award to $500 beginning next semester," says Dr. Steve Raper, associate professor of engineering management at UMR.

Jones has been an intern with General Motors Corp. in Detroit, Mich., and Anheuser-Busch Co. in St. Louis and Cartersville, Ga. He has accepted a position as a packaging line manager with Anheuser-Busch.

The IOPP is the world’s largest packaging association with more than 5,000 members, 150 corporate members and 50 chapters.
