Connie Hager Silverstein, president of the University of Missouri System Board of Curators, will deliver the commencement address during UMR’s Annual Commencement Saturday, Dec. 20.
About 600 degrees will be awarded during commencement, which begins at 11 a.m. in UMR’s Gale Bullman Multi-Purpose Building, 10th Street and Bishop Avenue. Silverstein will also receive a Chancellor Medal.
Silverstein is also principal of banking services division at Edward Jones in St. Louis and ex officio member of the Curators’ Executive Committee. She received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 1976 and law degree from Washington University in 1979. She has worked at Edward Jones since 1983 and served as an adjunct faculty member at Maryville University from 1984-1985. Prior to joining Edward Jones she was an attorney for Fru-Con Corp. and for Team Four Inc. Silverstein was also a member of St. Luke’s Medical Center’s Women’s Resource Advisory Board from 1992-1993.
The campus will also hold its 2003 Winter Graduation Jubilee from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, in the Miner Lounge and Centennial Hall of University Center-East on campus.
