Two seniors in metallurgical engineering at UMR recently received Outstanding Scholar Awards at the ASM International Materials Solutions Conference in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Nathan Switzner of Kansas City, Mo., and Nicholaus Wheeler of Willard, Mo., each received a $2,000 stipend for their excellence in scholarship, leadership and service in materials engineering.
"A total of 10 student scholarship awards were made at the conference, and UMR was the proud recipient of two," says Dr. Ronald Kohser, chair and professor of metallurgical engineering at UMR.
ASM International has more 36,000 members and provides information and data on metals, engineered materials and processes.
