Emily A. Rueck of Rolla, Mo., a teaching assistant in UMR’s mathematics and statistics department, was named the Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant for 2003 by the University of Missouri-Rolla Parents’ Association.
Rueck is working on a master’s degree in mathematics and statistics at UMR.
The annual award is presented during UMR’s Family Day, which was held Nov. 1 on campus. The award consists of a $500 stipend and a certificate of appreciation.
Each year, the award recipient is determined based on student evaluations done at the close of each semester. Results of the student evaluations are compiled by the UMR Academic Council Committee on Effective Teaching.
