Writing is the theme of an art show to be hosted by the UMR Writing Center this fall. All Missouri artists, as well as members of the UMR community, are invited to submit their work.
Submitted works should be inspired in some way by writing — either one’s own writing, the writing process in general, or the writing of someone else, for example literature or journalism, says Dr. Kate Drowne, director of the Writing Center at UMR.
Artists are welcome — but not required — to submit a brief explanation of the source of their inspiration. These explanations will be displayed beside their corresponding piece during the show. Artists willing to sell their work should also indicate the price.
An opening reception for the show will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, in the Writing Center, Room 113 Campus Support Facility on the UMR campus. The show will continue through Nov. 15.
Submissions should be brought to the UMR Writing Center the week of Oct. 28, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. After the show, artwork may be picked up during the same hours the week of Nov. 18.
