Bomb threats under investigation at UMR

On four separate occasions last week, threatening calls were made to the University of Missouri-Rolla that resulted in the evacuation of the Campus Support Facility. Each time, the building remained closed for approximately 30 minutes while UMR Police conducted a search.

UMR to test larger air whistle Sept. 20

The University of Missouri-Rolla will test a larger air whistle to be used during campus emergencies at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20. The test, which will last less than one minute, will allow campus officials to determine how well the alarm can be heard across campus.

UMR students are trying to build the perfect solar house

Students at the University of Missouri-Rolla are getting pretty good at designing and building solar houses. This fall, the UMR Solar House Team will once again enter a house in the US. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon, a student design competition to be held in Washington, D.C., Oct. 12-20.
