Three-time Olympic gold medalist Misty May-Treanor will speak at Missouri University of Science and Technology this April as part of the Mullin-Elmore Leadership in Athletics Series.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, in the ballroom of the Welcome Center on the Missouri S&T campus, located at 500 Tim Bradley Way. In a moderated conversation, May-Treanor will share insights from her career, exploring what it takes to perform under pressure, build strong teams, and lead with purpose both on and off the court. An autograph and photo session will follow the program.

The event is free and open to the public; guests are asked to RSVP and submit questions online. Parking for the event will be available for $2 per hour at the subsurface parking garage, located on the east side of the traffic circle at Bishop Avenue and Tim Bradley Way. Free parking is available in Lot C, located across from Castleman Hall, with entrances on Ninth Street.

May-Treanor is the most decorated beach volleyball player of all time, with 109 career tournament victories and three Olympic gold medals. Alongside teammate Kerri Walsh Jennings, she won gold in Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, and London 2012 — the only beach volleyball team, men or women, to ever win consecutive Olympic gold medals.

May-Treanor has worked with Special Olympics and the Make-A-Wish Foundation and is the founder of the May-Treanor Ohana Foundation. She worked as a broadcaster for NBC Universal during the Paris Olympics in 2024 and won an Emmy for her coverage of the beach volleyball competitions. She is married to former Major League Baseball player Matt Treanor.
