Missouri S&T is offering a new opportunity for working individuals seeking to elevate their careers with flexible, noncredit Professional Development Hour courses

Alumni get 50% off by using the code “ENDof2025.” The deadline for the alumni discount is Feb. 1, 2026.

“These flexible, noncredit offerings are ideal for busy professionals who want to stay sharp, grow their influence and demonstrate their commitment to excellence in their field,” says Cassidy Outlaw, senior student support specialist.

One of the courses available was created by Tracie Devault, assistant teaching professor of English and technical communication, which helps participants improve their workplace communication skills.

“Learning how to solve problems with a coworker, being able to share complicated ideas clearly or even having the ability to ask for a raise — becoming an expert communicator — will set you up for success,” Devault says.

Dr. Susan Murray, associate provost for teaching and curricular excellence, created a course about negotiation for those who feel they lack that skillset.

“Whether you are negotiating the purchase of a car, home or a work contract, you will find clear steps you can take to feel more confident and achieve better results,” Murray says.

The current available courses are those in the “Leadership & Communication Series” and in the “Responsible Engineering Series.” The two series include:

Leadership & Communication Series

  • Workplace Resolution
  • Communication for Leaders
  • Negotiation

Responsible Engineering Series

  • Decision Making
  • Social Responsibility
  • Ethics for Engineers

Those enrolled will earn a badge for each course completed, and those who complete all courses in the series will earn a “Master” badge.

All courses are fully self-paced and flexible to fit any schedule. Learn more and enroll at S&T Training Online.
