Missouri S&T is ranked eighth in the nation for “Best Salaries,” and second among public universities in that category, according to a new ranking from The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) and College Pulse. This is the second consecutive year S&T has been in the top 10, moving up from No. 9 in last year’s rankings.

Missouri S&T remains the state’s highest-ranked university for “Best Salaries” and “Best Value.”

The 2026 WSJ/College Pulse 2026 Best Colleges in the United States ranking rates 584 universities. The ranking emphasizes one key question: How well did the college prepare students for financial success?

This ranking scores colleges based on their salary impact, the number of years needed to pay off tuition, and the value added to graduates’ median salaries attributable to attending the college. This calculation compares the median earnings of each school’s graduates and the median earnings of high school graduates in the state where the college is located and across the U.S. when considering the ration of in-state to out-of-state students. According to the website, the value added for S&T graduates is $59,624.

Out of the 584 universities ranked, Missouri S&T ranked 200 overall, third in the state, and first for a public university in Missouri.

As parents, we are proud that our daughter has grown so much in her three-and-a-half years at Missouri S&T. Thank you Minors for helping to expand her horizons, and give her an environment to flourish. Congratulations!
