Egyptologist to speak at Missouri S&T library

Egyptologist Dr. Chris Naunton will speak about the search for the tombs of some of Egypt’s most famous rulers and sign books at the Curtis Laws Wilson Library at Missouri S&T this week.  

The event will begin at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, and is free and open to the public. This event is sponsored by the Weiner Endowment for the Humanities and the Center for Science, Technology and Society at S&T. 

Naunton is an Egyptologist, writer and broadcaster. He has written four books, the first of which was Searching for the Lost Tombs of Egypt. He also published Egyptologists’ Notebooks, ‘A celebration of Egyptologists’ intimate diaries and journals, in October 2020. He is one of the hosts of “Talk Like an Egyptian,” an Egyptology podcast. 

Naunton is director of the Robert Anderson Research Charitable Trust, a London-based charity that provides support to visiting academics. He has traveled to Egypt more than 50 times, and has appeared in documentaries for The Smithsonian Channel and the BBC, among others.
