Dozens of students presented their research projects to the public during the 19th annual Undergraduate Research Conference at Missouri S&T this April. The conference featured exhibitions from students in a variety of majors. Students were required to prepare either an oral presentation or a poster summarizing their research and had to be ready to take questions from judges and conference attendees.

Missouri S&T petroleum engineering professor wins IOR Pioneer Award
Dr. Baojun Bai, a Curators’ Distinguished Professor of petroleum engineering at Missouri S&T, was recently honored with the Improved Oil Recovery (IOR) Pioneer Award from the Society of Petroleum Engineers at the 2024 IOR Conference in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Missouri S&T commencement speakers announced
More than 1,100 Missouri University of Science and Technology graduates will be awarded degrees during three upcoming ceremonies. Dr. Kim Colter, a community hospitalist for Mercy, will speak at the May 10 ceremony for Ph.D. graduates. Robert “Bob” Clark, founder of Clayco, will speak at both May 11 ceremonies.
