Veterans, military spouses and others in business who want to learn more about starting or growing a business are invited to attend the Veterans in Business seminar offered by the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Missouri S&T the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and Phelps County Bank.
The Veterans in Business seminar will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, at Columbia College, 550 Blues Lake Parkway, Rolla, Missouri. Registration is required. Visit vetbiz2019.eventbrite.com to register. The seminar is free and includes lunch.
“Taking advantage of the resources available and learning about best practices are pivotal for business owners and entrepreneurs to succeed,” says Travin Shelton, business development specialist at Missouri S&T. “We are excited to partner with the SBA and Phelps County Bank during National Veterans Small Business Week to share those resources and explore business successes and failures with current veteran business owners.”
Attendees will hear personal stories from veteran business owners and learn about local resources, including the Small Business Administration, Veteran Business Resource Center and the Small Business Development Center at Missouri S&T. Much of the information is relevant to all small businesses, but the seminar also covers items of interest specific to veteran-owned small businesses. Although the event is focused on veterans, anyone may attend.
