Missouri S&T students nominated for Homecoming Queen

Seven students at Missouri University of Science and Technology have been nominated by student organizations to compete for the title of 2017 Homecoming Queen.

The winner will be chosen after interviews and a campuswide election held the week prior to Homecoming. Missouri S&T’s Homecoming will be held Oct. 27-28.

The queen and king, as well as runners-up, will be announced during halftime ceremonies of the Missouri S&T Homecoming football game. The game, which features Missouri S&T and Southwest Baptist University, starts at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28.

The queen candidates are:

— Rachel Craft, a senior in biological sciences from Chesterfield, Missouri, representing Alpha Psi Omega

— Alexis Jenkin, a senior in environmental engineering from Kansas City, Missouri, representing the Associated Students of the University of Missouri

— Danielle Kalmer, a senior in mechanical engineering from New Baden, Illinois, representing Chi Omega

— Emily LaPreze, a senior in civil engineering from Springfield, Missouri, representing Pi Kappa Alpha

— Cody Shelton, a senior in environmental engineering from Liberty, Missouri, representing Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma

— Nhu Thai, a sophomore in information science and technology from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, representing the International Students Club

— Erin Wharton, a senior in chemical engineering from Columbia, Missouri, representing Alpha Chi Sigma.
