Interim Chancellor Christopher G. Maples shared the following message with the Missouri S&T community this afternoon:
Dear Missouri S&T Students,
We know that many of you from the Houston area and the surrounding region have been affected in some way by Hurricane Harvey. Our hearts go out to all who are affected by this devastating event, and we want to do all we can to help.
Our case manager, Krista Morris-Lehman, is ready to assist you in locating various resources, including access to emergency funds, and working through challenges or concerns (573-341-4211). Counselors are available to provide additional support at two locations: Counseling, Disability Services and Student Wellness (204 Norwood Hall, 573-341-4211) and Student Health Services (910 West 10th St., 573-341-4284).
Please share your situation with your professors and academic advisor so that they can help you in making adjustments to your class schedule if need be. The Registrar’s Office (573-341-4181) is also available to assist with your class schedule and the case manager can assist as a liaison for students.
The Student Financial Assistance staff (573-341-4282) is ready to review your situation to address your concerns. Please let us know how we can help.
Your parents are encouraged to contact Parent and Family Relations (573-341-4209) to let us know of circumstances that affect you.
If you know of any S&T students in need of help, we hope you will encourage them to seek assistance through any of the resources listed above.
We dropped our son off a few short weeks ago as a new freshman and are relieved he is out of harms way while we deal with this horrific disaster. Thank you to S&T for thinking about us.
